This was dropped in a city near Vancouver at a random parking lot. Whenever fellow magicians visit from out of town, I try to take them out for a little street art. Joining me for this was Jason Bumbalow, Eric Jones, and Peter McKinnon~ all awesome guys. I think that's one of the greatest gifts I've ever been given; the ability (and honour) to call so many different people - from different countries, cities, companies - my friends. And I think that's truly what Send Wonder is all about. That moment in time when nothing else matters but the art, and all of our desire to bring happiness to people we've never met.

If you're just joining us, let me take a quick moment and fill you in! You probably know that my name is Jamie D. Grant and that I've created the "Anything Is Possible" bottle. And maybe you've heard about my Send Wonder campaign, where I leave bottles around the world for people to find.

Well, you've just come across my public version of that, which I do every summer- meaning that I actually tell people where the bottles are located. And this year, I'm giving away 13 Limited Edition AIP bottles every Sunday in June (today was week #3 of 4). As with the other weeks, people follow my Twitter or Facebook and find me walking around. Well, today was the second Sunday of this year's public "Send Wonder Campaign" ~ Month of Sundays. And what a day it was- incredible! What's always amazing, to me, is the range of people that come out and take part in public art. When you look at their faces, and read their random quotes (that they were asked to provide when they claimed a bottle), it's hard not to sit back and wonder who these people are; who've they loved, who've they lost and, most simply, who they are at this particular moment in time... I hope this provides some insight. At any rate, they're beautiful people~ each and every one.

It was a beach day. That means a yellow hoodie~ fun! Not the most "street arty" but what can you do?

Hiya Gang!

Tomorrow, at noon, I'll be somewhere in Vancouver with 13 "Anything Is Possible" bottles to handout as this year's (public) Send Wonder campaign! I'll be doing this for every Sunday in June...

I'll post a picture of my starting location and then just walk around the city. If you see me, just come up and say the words, "Anything Is Possible!" and one of these Limited Editions will be yours! We'll take a picture, maybe put up a stencil, and experience art; together.

The only thing I ask is that you don't already have an AIP bottle and, if you're able to track me down tomorrow and receive a bottle, that you take one of the Inches home with you and put it up somewhere in your neighborhood as a permanent reminder that even though life can be a game of inches; we'll fight for them, no matter what, and never, ever, give up.

The Send Wonder campaign's "A Month Of Sundays" is fast approaching!

Hiya Gang,

If you're reading this, then you probably already know that I'm the creator of the "Anything Is Possible" bottle. You probably also might have heard that I leave them on the street for people to find at random. It began last year, when I gave away 1 a day, for 100 days in a row. I called it the "Send Wonder" campaign...

It was epic! I was so touched by how it was received that I began to continue, after the 100 days ended. Since last year, I've left a many more on the streets- most without photos, video, or publicity, Nothing. Just art for art's sake. Occasionally, I'll throw something up on Twitter or Facebook, but the magician in me likes the secrecy of going out into the night and leaving one for someone to find the next morning.

That said, so many people have been kind enough to write, comment, and e-mail, that I think I should make it a bit easier for people who have always supported my work. So in honour of the relaxing Sunday afternoon's of yesteryear, I'm making a "Month Of Sundays".

Basically, I'll be walking around with 13 bottles every Sunday in June (totally 52- the same number of cards in a deck). All you need to do is come up to me and say the words, "Anything Is Possible" and I'll give you one- which will be numbered and signed. That's it. (My Twitter feed will have clues on where I'll be at.)

All that I ask is that you're someone who doesn't already have an AIP bottle, and that you're someone who is looking for a little wonder in their life. If that's you, come find me in 2 weeks!

And if you're not in Vancouver (where this will take place), please leave a comment expressing your dismay. It might help convince people to come out, take part, and help...

Ripley's has truly gone above and beyond. After seeing a post I made about a friend's Ripley's Believe It Or Not cartoon (we all hang out together apparently, lol) being in color, Andrea from Ripley's Hollywood took it upon herself to see that mine made the palette as well (it was originally done in black and white).

It was a such a generous act that I don't know what to say, other than THANK YOU! And, please visit her Odditorium on my behalf, I will be forever grateful!

A lot of people tell me that I seem to be the happiest person they know. And while it's true that I'm super jolly (hurrah!), I've also had hard times in my life (just like everyone else). There was one time however, a number of years ago, that was particularly difficult. So much so, that I kept the following picture in my wallet because I related so much with the man...

It's a piece from Gregory Colbert's amazing work titled, "Ashes and Snow". And I really felt I could relate- that feeling of drowning, in my case; due to a mountain of work and stress. But then, one day, I snapped out of it. I wish I could tell you there was some momentous epiphany or lightning strike of revelation, but there really wasn't. I just looked at the picture and said, "I'm not going to be that guy anymore. Instead, I'm going to be the light." Shining through the water. That's what I've tried to achieve ever since. Occasionally, I'm the elephant, but that's a different story. Aim high. Send wonder. Build dreams.

The "Send Wonder" Deck Of Images

Even though the "Send Wonder" campaign is still going strong (albeit in a slightly more "underground" capacity), we still have the the last day of the original 100 day adventure to wrap up!

To recap, the 100th bottle is still in my possession and was to be found by someone who figured out a codeword, via clues in a book that I was going to write about the whole project. Well, the project hasn't really ended and, as a result, a book just seems too final. So what's the plan? Well, I had some puzzle boxes made...

And inside each box is a single deck of playing cards. This deck has the original "Banksy-themed" box but inside, instead of a regular deck of cards, are all the images from the campaign.

Please note that the backs of these "cards" each have a different image from the campaign so I'm not sure how many games you'll be able to play with them, since you will know what your opponent's cards are...suggestions?

Each box is numbered and signed and will hopefully, for some of you, be your entrance to a wonderful world of art. For others, I have bigger dreams. I have my fingers crossed that someone will buy one of these boxes and that it will inspire them in the way that Bansky, Sheppard, Invader, and the Dark, have inspired me.

I pray that someone will figure out how to open the box, pull out the deck, look at the images, and realize that they, that you, can go out and make the world a more beautiful place. I hope that this "Deck Of Images" will go into your pockets and that, whenever times get tough, you'll be able to look through them and not see a deck of cards in a bottle in Africa, but rather feel the connection that you've made. That by the act of purchasing this, and by having it with you, that you have actually become the art...

As for Bottle 100! One of these boxes has been selected to have a gold card inside. Whoever receives this card will be the recipient of the 100th bottle. This is the last bottle that will have the original "Banksy'Themed" deck inside, as I've moved on to the classic Bicycle Playing Card box design for "Send Wonder" AIP bottles that I'm currently leaving on the streets. After the surprising success of this summer’s Send Wonder Campaign, I’ve decided to take this idea a bit further, a bit farther, and a touch longer. I’ll definitely be doing some more Campaigns with limited edition decks in the future (where clues will be left giving followers an opportunity to look for them) but, in the meantime, I’ll be leaving my regular “Anything Is Possible” bottles around the world with a special street art shadow. Made for me by the dark, I’ll be putting up the shadow reflection, along with an actual “AIP” bottle, at random locations wherever I go. Inspired by the likes of Invader, Sheppard, and Banksy, I’m hoping the bottles will be found, kept, and appreciated by people who need some wonder in their lives. That’s my hope, my goal, my passion.

News! The 100th Bottle has now been found! Hurrah!

The 100th, and last (I no longer use the Banksy-themed deck, and haved moved on to the classic Bicycle Playing Card design for current "AIP" bottle drops!) Banksy AIP bottle is still at large. Will you find it?

At this very moment, 52 cards are being designed, outlining the entire first hundred days of the "Send Wonder" campaign. These cards will each have a photo from the corresponding day and will hopefully be viewed as individual works of art, all their own. Where were you the day it was taken? Have you been to that location? What does the image mean to you? Can it bring you hope, inspiration, or wonder?

These will be placed into a special Puzzle Box and will available for purchase. The catch? One of these boxes will contain an extra card that will inform you that you've won the 100th bottle (a tribute to the writer of a book that I must have read a thousand times as a kid). I've used a Random Number Generator, and already know which box will receive this card. Do you?

Excuse me for one second...Sorry. I just let out the loudest "I did it!" possible. I can't believe I made it to 100 without a hitch! Holy smokes. This chapter of my life is over. I actually did it. I actually pulled this whole thing off. Sure, there's a coffee table book (or something) to write before Christmas outlining the whole "Send Wonder" campaign, with clues to the location of the hundredth bottle (an obvious homage to David Blaine's amazing book "Mysterious Stranger"~ I think the Send Wonder book's code will reveal a phrase that needs to be said, though, that will release the bottle from my protection)- but that's easy. I hope. Anyway, it can be written from the comfort of my coffee filled home. Actually, we're going to Paris- just so I can say "I'm writing this book from a Parisian cafe...", lol. But the hardest part of the "Send Wonder" campaign has officially come to a close. I need to sit down. Check yesterday's post for my thoughts on the whole thing- and check back next week for a wrap up video. Wow, we did it. All of us, together. The whole "Send Wonder" Campaign began when my partner in crime, and overall best bud, Dunc and I went to see Banksy's movie "Exit Through The Gift Shop". We came out of the film, chatting as usual, when I came to realize that I had something I might be able to offer to the streets. Banksy, and others, were right- couldn't art be free, just for art's sake? And so it began.

I can't describe the work, the pain, the frustration, stress, desperation, and panic that I inflicted upon myself. And how much it meant to me. This has been one of the greatest summers of my entire life. To be able to reach out, into the world, and touch even a few people has been one of my biggest achievements. If you're reading this right now, you've taken part of this whole thing- and I can't thank you enough. When I started, I simply wanted to send some wonder out into the world~ I never thought about how it would end up coming back at me a hundred fold.

I hope the "Send Wonder" campaign has given you some entertainment and ultimately some inspiration. For those of you hoping to find a bottle, and didn't- remember that you never gave up, you just ran out of time. The "Anything Is Possible" bottle is, at its base elements, glass, paper, and cardboard. However, what you achieved, by simply walking out your door, was what the campaign was actually about. The bottle itself was secondary. It was your effort that meant the world, and what will one day change it...

Sometimes things work out so well, it's just a mystery. This bottle had a bit of a time making it to Ireland but got there in the end. Send Wonder Campaign News!

Hiya Gang!

I can't believe the "Send Wonder" Campaign is going to wrap up in four days. Amazing. I thought it might be fun to have a little get together on the 100th day. Nothing fancy, just an open invite to everyone who looked, read, watched, or listened to any part of this crazy thing. I'll be at the Railway Club on Wednesday, Sep.08 (hopefully in the back room if it's not taken) to take pictures, laugh, trade stories, and say, "Thanks!" I might also have a couple of my regular AIP bottles to sell at a special rate and some things to give away.

I'll be there around 7:30ish- I hope to see some people there! And bring your bottle if you found one!

This is in a preserved historic town called Barkerville. It's just outside of where I grew up and I've been there probably a thousand times in my life. It was created almost overnight in 1860 because of the gold rush and has been preserved as how it originally looked over a hundred years ago. This is where I learned to gold pan.

A funny story- About fifteen years ago, I worked at Vancouver International Airport and one of my co-workers was from South America. He had just moved to Canada with his family and this was his first job in the country. I asked him how he liked it and he told me that Canada was the greatest place on earth and that, now he was here he, along with his wife and four kids, could finally achieve their dream. "What's that," I asked. "To own a house or something?" "No!" he replied, "We're finally going to go to one of the most amazing places in the world. It's far up in the north. Have you ever heard of a place called...Barkerville? They dress up like the olden days!!"

I mentioned that I'd been there once and that it had changed my life. The church in the background is a thing of beauty.

I think this is as far north as we're going to get, as this is actually at the Pilot's Monument in front of Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories. This outpost honours the bush pilots of the north that helped explore and service the Arctic. Even though I wasn't born as far north as that, I still feel a certain connection with all things northern, cold, remote, and beautiful.

I have been looking for this for months. Months! "Buy Art, Not Cocaine." is one of the greatest phrases of all time and I've been looking everywhere for this poster! It was thought up by the gang at The Cheaper Show, who run an amazing event here in town, and there used to be hundreds of these on walls around the city. However, this was last year's poster and was replaced by the "Cross My Art & Hope To Buy" for this year's event.

So I really wanted to leave a bottle near the BANC (that's kind of funny) but couldn't find any anywhere. Knowing that I was running out of time, I spent SEVEN HOURS!! on Day #87 going up and down every single alley in the Downtown East Side hoping that I would come across one. And there was no way I could "give up" after spending the previous eighty seven days telling people to never do so, lol. Gah! I was trapped by my own positive thinking! Finally I called it a day and left that bottle on the mailbox...

So then I started thinking about how I couldn't give up and had to think of something. My plan was to print off a copy and put it up somewhere myself, lol, but fate intervened. After three months of searching, I found this wall this morning at 7am. I couldn't be happier. Never Give Up.

One of my best friends in the entire world recently moved to a town that has a famous lake-monster called "Ogopogo". It's a name that is recognizable all across Canada and is synonymous with mystery, allure, and wonder. The Ogopogo has never been seen and is said to have been around since 1872...

There's something about this picture that really strikes me. Here you have a fun sculpture (who says art has to always be serious?), and a good time paddle wheeler. But then, on the left, is this dark mountain. And swimming at its base is this creature that has been part of local lore. It just makes for the perfect summer for some reason.

In honour of Turk 182 and street artists everywhere, I really wanted to leave one in a subway before this Campaign ended. This is the closest thing we've got in Vancouver. If only I could find a way of attaching a bottle permanently to things. I wonder if there's any sort of glass glue~ so that I could affix a Bottle to the sides of trains, sidewalks, etc... Or maybe it's best that they're picked up and taken home.

It was in this building that I thought up the "Anything Is Possible" bottle. It took months, and many, many, many attempts but, in the end I figured out a way while riding my bike. I decided to leave 2 bottles there tonight in honour of the beginning of it all. I also liked the image of 2 bottles side by side just like 88.

Bottle 89

The building also has a beautiful Art Deco style architecture to it, which I love. I especially like the "Pull" on the door. Sometimes that's all we need to do- open the door and walk right in...

This is at the end of an esplanada in Spain. I love the traffic, the alley, the clock. It has that European espionage feel to it. I hope whoever picks it up looks over his/her shoulder when they grab it, jumps into a taxi, and starts speaking rapidly in Spanish (preferably with subtitles).

Jamie's Guide To A Successful Art Project.

Step 1: Try and make friends all over the world. Like, say, Taipei!

Step 2: Have aforementioned friend offer to go somewhere cool with your art project. Somewhere like the former tallest building in the world would be neato.

Step 3: Simply stand back while your pal ascends in the fastest elevator in existence & almost gets arrested while crawling onto the viewing platform. (I personally find it extremely enjoyable to be drinking coffee while sitting in a leather chair as this is going on.)

Step 4: Sit in wonder as your friend e-mails you photos.

Step 5: High five the nearest person available. Pause. Re-high five. Be thankful for the amazing people of the world!

So this morning I wanted to do something a bit different and thought that I'd give people following my twitter posts a better chance of finding a bottle. So I tweeted this picture of me parking my bicycle at a local cafe...

I also said that the first person to sit across from me and say, "Cheesy Bears" would be the proud owner of Bottle 81. I put the bottle on the table, took this picture and heard someone at the table next to me immediately say, "Is that some kind of art?"

I explained that it was and the gentleman asked if he could see it. Then he asked how much it was. I explained that I normally sell my regular bottles for $100 but that this one was $10,000, lol. I then said that it was part of an art campaign that I was doing and that in ten minutes we would be seeing people storming the cafe and saying a code phrase to try and claim it. He asked me what the words were and I laughed and said that I couldn't tell him that...but that it was on my twitter.

As it turns out, Philip (his name) is from out of town and doesn't have a cellphone. So he stands up and starts asking if he can borrow a cellphone from someone, knowing that time was very quickly ticking. It was awesome. He asked if it was okay, to which I replied, "Absolutely. What's happening right now is part of the whole artistic event." Why not, right? Things started to get frantic as he, along with some of the staff I believe, tried to get the code words. So they're working on that as I know that someone might burst in the door any second...

Philip, however, comes racing back to the table, sits down and says, "Cheesy Bears.", lol. And I reply, "Then this is for you." I send out a tweet right away saying that Bottle 81's been found so that people don't waste their time but about half a dozen people arrive within the next 5 minutes. It was great theater.

What makes this story even better is that one of the people to show up is a famous artist ~ Robert Chaplin. His work is brilliant (check out his blog) and I've been a fan of his forever. To hear him say the words "Cheesy Bears" is a highlight of this campaign. So Philip asks Robert if he can take our picture, lol. This, to me, is hysterical for many reasons. Philip wants a picture with me. I want a picture taken by Robert. And Robert wanted a bottle but sells one of his books instead (to Philip, as I already have all of them). An amazing morning. Wonder was everywhere there today.

Today's bottle goes out to the Cheesy Bears (see Bottle 45), as they're now gone. Why someone would take away public art, especially as awesome as three bright orange bears is absolutely beyond me. I just loved what the original proposal must have looked like. Artist: "Well, I envision a bright day-glo bear sticking out of a concrete wall. Make that three bears." Person in Charge: "Hmmm. Sure. Let's do it!"

Whoever it was that gave that approval was a visionary. I congratulate them. So today is the same sort of thing. It's a huge silver lump in the middle of the sidewalk. The local's call it "King Kong's Filling". Brilliant.

This shot was so hard to get. I actually walked into an old "Athletic Club" in Chinatown and tried pretending like I owned the place, in order to get access to the roof. Unfortunately, the only Cantonese I know is, "Thank you", "Where is your pain?", and "What time is it?" I should have learned, "Don't shoot." I think it was a gang hideout as I was quickly escorted off the premises.

Luckily, there was an easier spot across the street...

Oh yeah, the whole point was to get that sign in the background.

I remember using these as a kid when we took the ferry to Vancouver Island, which is wonderful irony as Vancouver isn't on it (the island, not the ferry). I think it would cost 25 cents and you got to fight with your brothers over who got to look through it. I was surprised to find this one on the street.

If you've been following this Campaign you know that I've been leaving the majority of these bottles around Vancouver, but have also been sending some out to friends around the world. Well, one of the greatest guys I know took today's bottle with him as part of a ride to raise awareness for Parkinson's~ The "Just Giver" Ride. And Mark is, without question, one of the greatest people I know~ during a difficult time in my life he stood by me without question or doubt. He's top tier.

So he was planning on leaving today's bottle in a hallway in their hotel after they got back from today's stage (that's cycling terminology for "long ride") up north in British Columbia, so that it would be discovered by one of the 150 or so guests or press that were attending the post ride event. A great idea. But it got dropped. Literally. And it smashed. Into 1000 pieces.

I absolutely love this for a plethora of reasons. The first is because I wrote on the box, when I gave the bottle to Mark, "To be dropped on July.28" Priceless.

Secondly, because this particular day symbolizes the "Send Wonder" Campaign more than any other day. Why? Because things break. Because things get lost. Hearts are broken. People die. But we go on. We take a picture, we laugh (or cry), we talk, and we wait for tomorrow. We never give up.

I'll be remaking Bottle #58 and donating it to the Parkinson's head office on behalf of the Just Giver Team.

Odds are that I'll never be arrested for my art. But many have had run-ins for something as simple as putting up a sticker. That said, the police have a very hard job, no question. If I'm ever in trouble, you can be rest assured that I'll be calling 9-1-1 and will be extremely thankful that someone will show up who wants to help. So this is for all of them. For the PoPo, and for the people they arrest- not just artists, but for everyone. For the ones that have made poor decisions, the ones that have been forced onto hard times, and for the ones that have done nothing.

One of my favourite quotes is "I don't care who you are, where you're from, what you did, or who you did it to. If you want help, I'm here."

Apart from sending bottles to popular locations, I also think it's important to try and "Send Wonder" to remote ones as well. Pense has a population of 600 people and the building is one of the last grain elevators in the great prairie. I love the fact that "pense" is think, in French.

Again, I can't say enough about the people who help me drop these off. This campaign is very important to me and I'm always shocked when people send me the pictures. It seems like everyone's vision is in total complete sync...

I wanted to drop this in the middle of a field with absolutely nothing around it. I tweeted the location and while I was taking pictures a minivan ripped up and people jumped out just like the A-Team, lol. It was pretty sweet.

I stood around and chatted a bit, and some other people came up. A part of me feels really bad for people that have been looking and have narrowly missed finding a bottle, but I hope that this campaign helps them regardless. I'm hoping that it shows people that no matter what they want in life, it's within reach. You don't always have to grab a hold of something for it to still matter. The worth is in your attempt.

Sometimes I give out the Twitter Clue on my way to the drop point as opposed to after I've dropped it and today I wanted to put the bottle in a wall that has been tagged by one of Vancouver's most famous artists "The Dark"~ who does absolutely amazing work. So I Twittered "Heading to Quebec and 2nd" and while I was setting up, a supernice couple came sprinting up the street, lol.

It's a bit of a trip to have people call out your name whom you've never met. Needless to say, they were making a run for the bottle. They got it.

Okay, before you read this, check out the comment from the Discoverer of Bottle 13... Here's a guy who finds one and the first thing he thinks of is to give it to the Children's Hospital. Amazing. Okay, so for today...

I haven't watched to see who finds the bottles, except for that one on film, but I thought that since today is the halfway mark, maybe I'd hang out for a bit. So I put up this sign right outside a coffee house and I got myself a drink. And I watch for about an hour as people walk by, lol. Not just the Bottle, but the money as well. Too funny. And then a gentleman walks up and stops dead in his tracks, looks at the bottle, looks at me, and asks, "Is this yours?" I just shrug my shoulders as if to say, "Not me" without actually saying anything.

Just then a security guard walks up and the first gentleman picks up the bottle and says to the security guard, "Hey, check this out, a magician is town is leaving these all over the world..." I start to choke on my coffee at my shock that someone knew what it was. "...but the thing is, I've already found one."

?!?!?! I repeated that line over in my head to make sure it meant what I thought. And then I couldn't take it, lol. So I said, "Did you just say that you've already got one?" and we start to talk. As it turns out Brad found # 13 and now, by some crazy happenstance, comes across Bottle #50. Amazing. I mean, really! There's like, what, 2 million people here? But I think that it's a sign. And a great one at that.

So Brad, I'm pretty sure you're going to read this, and I just want to say that it was an absolute pleasure meeting you. This is what art is all about, these strange, magical mysteries of life. And I hope you can now keep one of the bottles for yourself. You deserve it.

The most amazing thing about this whole campaign is the amount of work that people have put into it (and I'm not talking about myself, lol). So many people have offered to help and, once they do so, have gone to extraordinary levels to help capture the whole feeling of "Send Wonder".

What I love about this particular picture isn't so much that he's contemplating how the bottle is made; but rather that he brought it with him to think about some great idea. I like to imagine that his left hand just set it down and now he's ready to think about whatever it is that's on his mind.

Well, many have tried but today was the first time it happened. Someone was waiting for me at the spot I was going to drop the bottle without knowing, for sure, that I was going to drop it there. What's funny is that it was in my home town. I rode 1600km today (800 there and back) and an amazing friend from high school (who I hadn't seen in eighteen years) knew where I would drop it. Awesome.

The actual drop is the water wheel from an old steamer. It was a fixture of my youth and is still there to this day.

This location is at the University of British Columbia. If you were to stand where the bottle is and speak, your voice would sound different- only in your head. It's pretty crazy.

While we were taking pictures, a nice couple came and sat down, waiting to stand on it and speak. The guy asked me what the bottle was and I said it was something that was going to be left there. When we walked away, they were looking at it. Awesome.

This is the original "W" from the Woodwards building. It used to be a distinctive landmark in the Vancouver skyline and was made in 1903. You can sort of see the new "W" on the tower in the background but I much prefer the original.

This is the entrance to Brighton Park which, starting back in the late 1800s, was a popular vacation spot. The pool is still there, as is the park for that matter, and many of the older generation remember this as the place they spent their summers.
